Art Vs. High Art - Difference?
For many years there has been a major classification dispute when it comes to the main questions-
What IS art? And better yet, what isn't considered art? Is there a difference between art and what is known as "High Art"? Where does art start to become High art?
I believe art is something that comes out of someone's emotions and creativity. Art has always been around and has shown many different ways to be expressed. Art can be 2- dimensional or 3-dimensional. Art can be shown in black and white or can be shown expressing different colors for each emotion. Art can be turned into something physical. Art can be made with nature, our environment, anything an artist touches turns into a masterpiece they see in their mind. They bring something ordinary and make it extraordinary. I believe that art is everything around us.
I also believe that high art comes from an artists work experience. The more known the artist is with their work, art shows, gallerias, museums- the more their art becomes high art. While some artist don't get the credit they deserved while they were alice-think of Vincent Van Gogh- they certainly did get their art out in the world and like Gogh, are very well known and have their art known as one of the best work to this day.
